Cheney on global warming
See the article here. It never ceases to amaze me how many conservatives try to deny or ignore science for the sake of votes, money and power.
Yes. I'm sure that this Think Progess site is a left-wing as Cheney is right-wing, but it doesn't change that the people in charge of our government are afraid that if they admit that we need to do something about global warming that they will take a financial hit from their oil buddies.

Now that the great enviro-nazi activist Al Gore has won his approval from liberal hollywood, I'm sure you'll get your wish. We all get to drive rubberband powered cars, eat our organicaly grown hay, and try not to fart. For the sake of 1 degree centigrade over more than a decade, we're on the brink of destroying global economy, and watching millions more starve in third world nations. Buckle your seat belts.
Somehow I thought posting this would bring you out of lurking mode. :)
I doubt that it will be the doom and gloom you predict, if nothing else because people won't be willing to sacrifice that much, especially the humvee driving, mansion living Hollywood liberals.
But I think some changes should be made, and sticking our collective heads in the sand won't make things go away.
I wouldn't be surprised down the road to see some "green conservatives" pop up, if they aren't out there already, as the Bush boondoggle makes members of his own party distance themselves from him.

Very funny!
